About Mullet Fever
« Absolutely terrifying Grind. It's like DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN and REGURGITATE mangled their genitals and sawed them off and then put their nads in a food processor. And that's the first song. Some of the samples and in-betweens are quite frightening. And their derivatives between Ultragrind Death and almost psyched-out WEEZER can toss and turn you like a nymphomaniac midget. Oh fuck! This record is sicker than Dr. Ruth's vagina! »

«Fucking Grind! Pitch-shifted vocals, steamrolling blast-beats, and every song is about a serial killer or mass murderer (…) Is this what is meant by "murder-core"? (…) I guess you'll just have to buy their record and their demo in order to see what I mean!»

« Germany has always been one of the true original homelands of Thrash Metal and BK49 just proves that the German people are still king of the genre! Playing a brand of straight forward, in-your-face old school Thrash Metal, the aggressivity and intensity off this album is to die for! Crunchy slicing guitars, pounding drums and powerful mid-range growls are the main ingredients in here! Finding influences in the old classics like Slayer (see intro on "House On Massgrave Hill" with its "Black Magic" type intro), Kreator (...), I would have to say that this band certainly won't reshape the entire Metal scene with this album, BUT they will absolutely please all fans of good old dirty Thrash! The guitars are very heavy, large and dirty at the same time, yet always very clean and clear, letting all the melodies pour through nicely! And this is not even the final "mastered" version I have here! The riffing is nothing less than total Thrash crunch and punch at its best, although like I said it is pretty classic in its approach. The bass plays a pretty important role in here as it can also bring more harmonies the music and hits hard in the background, adding a good amount of depth to the tracks. The drumming is very nice, not very flashy or overtly technical, but doing the job tightly and with conviction. The vocals are very good, crunchy guttural growls that just borders on the Death Metal style of vocals but still retaining that Thrash essence! Powerful and intense vocals! I love it! I love the overall sound for its power and intensity while still being very clean... This is very good Thrash! The song writing have improved significantly since their debut album "Zombified", which was okay but not more than that. But "Join The Dead" is a whole different ball game! It offers a nice array of fast, mid-paced power and slow heaviness, well arranged and balanced throughout the album! Definitely recommended! Grab it as soon as it hits the stands! »

« Belarus is doubtlessly the land with the most talented acts in the whole Eastern Europe and Divina Enema from Minsk undeniably prove this statement. Musically, "At the Conclave" shows a highly impressive example of how a Doom/Black Metal album should be conceived and performed. Capturing the nostalgic and melancholic essence of Doom genre, the band incorporates in it the mysticism and audio violence of Black insanity, touchy cello, violin and saxophone (!) arrangements and complements this pinnacle by diverse types of vocals (varying from ultra-high pitched clean vocals to relentless growling). (…) This is a breath of pure, fresh air for the scene, which is awfully inundated by worthless and stagnated so-called "artists". Not destined for the brainless masses. »

« A great brutal Death Metal band from Russia! First of all, the first thing that surprised me are the vocals… Oh yeah, brutal vocals by a woman, Mary Abaza! (…) The thing that really pleased me is that there many things mixed up in this records… Hard to categorized… Sometimes very brutal, sometimes more melodic, sometimes grind and wow, killer solos!!!! Good solos like in the good old days! The guitar is loud and yes for those who likes catchy riffs, there's some on that release! Give it a try! »
